Tully Hill is accepting applications for an experienced professional to join our team as Admissions Supervisor. The Admissions Supervisor will provide oversight of admissions and utilization review services to ensure services are carried out in accordance with facility policy and in compliance with CARF standards, NYS OASAS regulations, insurance company and third party payer requirements. Position reports to the Director of Business Development.
Responsibilities will include supervision of the pre-admission screening and evaluation process including verification of insurance benefits and treatment requirements, coordination with the multidisciplinary treatment team to ensure appropriate level of care using ASAM criteria and NYS regulations upon admission and for continued stay and processing level of care changes, communication of clinical and medical information to insurance companies and third party payers to justify admission and length of stay and prevent denial of payment, documentation of pertinent patient information into electronic medical record. Will provide leadership for intake, evaluation and utilization review staff to include scheduling, orienting and training new staff, identifying and facilitating staff development, evaluating staff performance. Will conduct preadmission screenings, evaluations and/or perform utilization review tasks as required by departmental staffing. Will assist in providing on call coverage.
Team oriented individual with the ability to work in a fast paced environment, strong leadership, written and verbal communication skills, and computer skills required. Advanced Counselor CASAC or other NYS QHP preferred, demonstrable knowledge of substance use disorder treatment, 12-Step Philosophy and OASAS regulations preferred. Knowledge of commercial insurance preferred. 2+ years supervisory experience preferred. Previous work experience in a business model not-for-profit corporation a plus. Experience in an electronic medical record environment required.
