June 2, 2016 - News

In chairing the 38th annual National Association of Addiction Treatment Providers (NAATP) Leadership Conference held on May 15-17, 2016 at the Harbor Beach Resort and Spa Center in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida, Tully Hill Executive Director and NAATP Board member Cathy Palm played a leading role in the outstanding success this year’s event experienced.

“We had 700 registered attendees at this year’s conference, which was far and away a record number for any previous NAATP leadership conference,” said Palm.  “We also had the participation of 60 distinguished faculty members who are experts in their respective addiction advocacy and treatment fields present on a wide variety of timely, important topics especially pertinent to treatment providers and supporters.  And our conference this year had 100 addiction field exhibitors, all of whom presented very relevant products and services.  All in all, it was a very, very successful event that saw our association achieve its stated objectives and goals.”

In collaboration with other NAATP Board members and the association’s staff Palm, a past NAATP Board Chair, spent much time and effort helping promote the conference, recruit sponsorships and secure the record number of attendees and exhibitors.  Palm opened the second day of the conference welcoming attendees and exhibitors, and encouraged them to embrace the event’s main purpose of improving each other’s respective treatment services and programs and enhancing the addiction industry overall.

The 2016 conference featured panels and workshops on spirituality as a component of best practice addiction care; addiction treatment parity in 2016; organization branding and online presence; implementing and using integrated treatment programs; ethics and professionalism in the addiction service industry; treatment outcomes; and treatment system evolution and synthesis.

Tully Hill was a primary sponsor of the 2016 conference.

The 39th annual conference is slated to be held from May 21-23, 2017 at the Omni Barton Creek Resort & Spa in Austin, Texas.
