Essential Information for Good Health and Recovery

In this two-part posting, Tully Hill Medical Director Dr. Gregory Serfer details the importance of nutrition and hydration for people recovering from substance use disorders as well as for good health overall. In this first, Dr. Serfer covers the nuts and bolts about Macronutrients (Part I) and their role in providing optimal dietary nourishment and sustenance.

Dr. Serfer will cover the same role Micronutrients play in establishing and keeping one’s overall health. Part II will focus on the benefits of hydration.

 

 

Dr. Gregory Serfer

Medical Director

Dr. Gregory Serfer became the Medical Director of Tully Hill Chemical Dependency Treatment Center in July 2018. Dr. Serfer obtained a Bachelor of Arts in Psychobiology from the University of Miami and his Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine from Nova Southeastern University College of Osteopathic Medicine. Dr. Serfer was previously employed at Auburn Community Hospital as Director of Substance Use Disorder Services. Dr. Serfer also serves as Medical Officer for the National Disaster Medical System for the U.S. Department of Health & Human Services.
