The holiday season can be a challenging time for individuals in recovery, but it is important to remember that you are not alone. Whether you are new to recovery or have been sober for several years, utilizing the three pillars of AA – recovery, fellowship, and service – can help you navigate the holiday season with grace and serenity.

Firstly, it is essential to prioritize your recovery above all else during this time. This may mean setting boundaries with family or friends, being honest about your needs, and taking time for self-care. Remember, you owe it to yourself and your loved ones to stay consistent and honest with your recovery journey.

Secondly, reach out to your fellowship for support and guidance. Attend local 12-Step meetings, be open about any concerns you may have, and ask for support from your community. Don’t forget about your fellowship at Tully Hill, where a Thanksgiving meeting will be held at 10:00 am, come share your experience, strength and hope and know we are cheering you on.

Lastly, consider ways you can be of service to others during the holiday season. This can be as simple as making coffee for a meeting, helping a family member with holiday preparations, or volunteering at a local organization.

Acts of service can be a powerful tool for strengthening your sobriety and connecting with others.

It is essential to have a sober plan in place during this time. Utilize resources such as the “Find a meeting” app or the 12-Step website to connect with virtual or in-person meetings.

With the support of your fellowship and the tools of recovery, you can successfully navigate the holiday season while staying true to your sobriety.

Keep going,
you are not alone.
